Hotel Promessi Sposi hosted one of the key events of the seventh edition of the Lecco Film Fest: the panel discussion “Culture, Cinema, Tourism and Territory.” The event brought together public institutions, local authorities, cultural operators and business leaders to reflect on the role of culture as a driver of development and on the need to build an increasingly sustainable tourism model capable of creating lasting value for local communities.
Culture and sustainable tourism take centre stage at the Lecco Film Fest.
The discussion was moderated by Fabio Dadati, General Manager of Hotel Promessi Sposi, entrepreneur, member of the Como-Lecco Chamber of Commerce and President of Confcommercio Lecco. He guided the conversation around a clear vision: the future of the region depends on the ability to connect culture, hospitality, business and public institutions.
In his opening remarks, Fabio Dadati emphasized that culture is a strategic asset for shaping the future of the Lecco area. He recalled the journey that began during Lecco’s bid to become Italy’s Capital of Culture and highlighted the important role that other local strengths can now play, from sports and outdoor activities to the Politecnico university and the leisure tourism sector, which has experienced significant growth in recent years. According to Dadati, this growth must be supported by a shared vision and a high-quality tourism offering capable of enhancing the identity of Lake Como without compromising its authenticity.
Among the speakers were Francesca Caruso, Regional Councillor for Culture of Lombardy; Cinzia Bettega, Councillor for Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Lecco; Mauro Guerra, Mayor of Tremezzina and President of ANCI Lombardia; Francesca Colombo, Director of BAM – Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano; and Don Davide Milani, President of the Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo and Artistic Director of the Lecco Film Fest. Despite their different perspectives, all shared a common message: cultural tourism is one of today’s greatest opportunities to foster sustainable, long-term development based on strong collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Hotel Promessi Sposi and Lake Como East Side: hospitality, local identity and local development
As a partner of the Lecco Film Fest, Hotel Promessi Sposi sees hosting this important discussion as a reaffirmation of its commitment to being more than a place to stay. The hotel aims to be a space where ideas, relationships and projects take shape, contributing to the growth and vitality of the local area. This role perfectly reflects the philosophy of Lake Como East Side, which has always been committed to promoting a hospitality model that brings together natural beauty, culture, sustainability and local identity.
Because the future of Lake Como is built in exactly this way: by creating opportunities for dialogue, enhancing its cultural heritage and transforming hospitality into a powerful driver of sustainable regional development.
